Hello,I am a teacher of Computer Science, from India.
One more book on maths
Some time ago I wrote a blog item about books on mathematics which dont teach you maths. I have now come across one more remarkable book in this category.
The book ::: "Mathematics in nature" by John A Adam (Pub. Universities Press) is a jewel. This books gives you so many examples and explanations of how simple natural phenomena are governed by maths. You see descriptions about the stripes on a zebra, spots on a cheetah, ondulation of sand dunes, leaf arrangements and so many commonplace sights. The maths is straight forward, the narration is simple and the whole book moves like a breeze. I recommend this book to all my students.
Cheers. Maths is great .
