Hello,I am a teacher of Computer Science, from India.
A ray of hope in rural India
Last week, I visited a small town in rural India : Narsapur. Narsapur, located on the banks of the river Godavari is a lush green patch which resembles paradise. The town is of course poor, lacks all common luxuries of any modern city, has very little to speak about. But, one great landmark in Narsapur is the SWARNANDHRA Engineering College. This institution has about 2000 young Indians (boys and girls) learning the various skills which will make them engineers. I gave them three lectures : LaTeX, Linux, Internship projects. It was a pleasure talking to this group of young hopefuls. It was so very recomforting to note that someone has thought of setting up an engineering college, in such a remote corner, in rural India. Hats off to the visionaries who created this institution. There is hope for India.
